This explains what information The Crappy App collects, why, and what you can do about it. Short version: most of what you do stays on your own device, and we never sell your data.
Saved on your device
Your practice progress is stored in your browser's local storage. That includes coins, XP, streaks, missions, finished lessons, logged sessions, saved strategies, table limits, seat and nickname, and recent rooms. It stays on your device unless you create an account. Clearing your browser data deletes it.
If you create an account
We store your email address and a securely hashed password with our database provider (Supabase), along with the progress you choose to sync. We use your email to run your account and to send messages you ask for, like password resets.
Payments
Purchases are handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details. We never see or store your full card number. For physical orders, we receive your name, shipping address, and phone number so we can deliver the order.
Usage analytics
We use product analytics (PostHog) to see which features get used and where people get stuck: pages viewed, buttons tapped, and practice events like rolls and bets. It doesn't include payment details or chat messages.
Chat and rooms
Messages you send at a table are shown to people in the same room. They're passed through our realtime service to reach other players, and we don't keep a chat history on our servers. Don't share personal information in chat.
Invite links
If you open the app from an invite link, we save the invite code on your device so the person who invited you can be credited.
What we don't do
We don't sell your personal information. We don't use it for third-party advertising. The app is for adults 18 and over, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
Your choices
You can clear everything saved on your device at any time through your browser settings. If you have an account, you can ask us to send you a copy of your data or to delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. If the changes are significant, we'll say so in the app.
